With the LA Kings Holiday Ice at L.A. LIVE and ICE at Santa Monica representing some of Los Angeles’s most popular skating destinations—all of which we have covered here —we found a few more options that beckon a visit. CHILL At The Queen Mary
- Long Beach

CHILL is The Queen Mary’s annual frozen holiday event, highlighted by The Ice Kingdom, featuring more than two million pounds of ice hand-carved into the spectacular story of the Nutcracker. Ticket prices vary based on the day. General Admission starts at $34.95 online/$39.95 at the door; Children (4-11) are $19.95 online/$19.95 at the door.
Woodland Hills Ice

The only open-air ice rink in the San Fernando Valley, Woodland Hills Ice hosts daily public skating, birthday parties, field trips, fundraisers, and special events all winter long. Admission is $10 for adults and $7 for children (4-12), and skate rental for $5.
Irvine Spectrum Center Holiday On Ice
- Irvine
- November 1 – February 17 for 90-minute sessions throughout the day
Break up the holiday shopping and slip on a pair of skates at the rink nestled between lit-up palm trees and the towering Giant Wheel Court. Admission is $14 for adults and children, and skate rental $4.
Olaf’s Frozen Ice Rink
- Downtown Disney District, Anaheim
- November 14 – January 11
- Sunday – Thursday 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m.
In honor of Disney’s new movie Frozen, the friendly snowman Olaf invites you to explore his ice rink in the center of Downtown Disney’s Winter Village. Four surrounding “shopping chalets” offer live music and dance performances. General admission for adults ($17), active military ($10), and children six and under ($12) includes tax and skate rental.

Soak up the season with themed entertainment, twinkling lights, and joyful music at this rink located just steps from hundreds of shops and eateries. Bright orange Bobby the Seal skating aids ($6) are available for our youngest skaters. General admission is $10, skate rental $3.

New York City
There will always be ice skating in Central Park, but for a different experience, join the “cool kids” over at The Standard, High Line, complete with breathtaking Hudson River views and a snack bar line-up worth taking your mitts off: crepes, Belgian waffles, cider, hot chocolate, and alcoholic drinks.
Chicago
Lace up your skates at the Sky Rink, The Peninsula Chicago’s outdoor terrace located directly above the Ralph Lauren and Tiffany stores inside the hotel. Beautiful views of the iconic John Hancock building and Michigan Avenue aren’t the only reasons that you’ll feel jolly: all proceeds are donated to two local children’s charities.
Las Vegas
For a truly original luxury winter retreat, visit The Cosmopolitan Hotel’s outdoor ice rink overlooking the heart of the Las Vegas Strip. Monday is “Date Skate Night” as scenes from your most beloved holiday movies play on a 65 digital marquee.
